When Hazel Johnson and Mari McCray met at church bingo in 1963, it was love at first sight. Forced apart by their families and society, Hazel and Mari both married young men and had families. Decades later, now in their mid-'60s, Hazel and Mari reunite again at a church bingo hall. Realizing their love for each other is still alive, what these grandmothers do next takes absolute strength and courage.

This Jackpot Edition contains over SIXTY PAGES of bonus material, including the talents of MARGUERITE BENNETT (Batwoman) and newcomer BEVERLY JOHNSON, SHAWN PRYOR (Cash and Carrie) and PAULINA GANUCHEAU (Zodiac Starforce), award-winning historical romance author ALYSSA COLE's comics writing debut with SHAE BEAGLE (MOONSTRUCK), GAIL SIMONE (CROSSWIND) and MARGAUX SALTEL (Superfreaks), and AMANDA DEIBERT (Wonder Woman '77) and CAT STAGGS (CROSSWIND), with illustrations from MEGAN HUTCHINSON (ROCKSTARS) and ARIELA KRISTANTINA (InSeXts). Plus a sneak peek of BINGO LOVE, VOL. 2: DEAR DIARY, with an afterword from GABBY RIVERA (America).

Amazing LGBTQ+ book with females over 40

TW: dementia, death of a loved one Rep: Queer, Pansexual This was such a fun read and I was swooning over Hazel and Mari! This is an important story because every LGBTQ+ coming out story is different and many come out later in life. The illustrations were STUNNING and seeing a Black woman with a darker skin tone is very important because they are often overlooked due to colorism. I really enjoyed Hazel & Mari's story & I was not expecting that ending :/

Great

I read the first edition, and tried to hold out to read this expanded edition before valentine's day, but I could not wait. I read it all in one setting. This book expands a bit more on some details not covered in the first book, such as Hazel's husband and paints a bit more into Marie's backstory. I do wish to read a bit more about Marie, because her life is not covered nearly as much as Hazel's. Overall, this is a great edition, and a must read, for fan's of the first edition.

Bingo Love jackpot Edition

If One is deciding between the original or this copy , get this as it has the bonus material that is worth it. The one thing I hope to see is one of the two main characters, Hazels husband what happens after to him...does he get what he deserves? That is all the further to avoid spoilers.

Buy this now. It's everything good and beautiful.

I couldn't love this more. I flat out wept. It's a stunning story with beautiful art. I really enjoyed the bonus stories. What a great love story!

Well Written and illustrated

I loved reading this story I experienced several emotions reading Elle and Mari's story including crying a few times! Definitely worth the read

Beautiful and Sweet

This was a very sweet story. I love the families that were created in this book and everyone was very well written. Seeing stories written about the older generation of lgbt+ folks is so refreshing and we need more happy stories. Plus these old gals are super adorable and share my love of bingo.

Love this graphic novel!

This is adorable. Love it all the way from the graphics to the story.<3

stop reading reviews and just buy it already

loved reading about 2 queer Black women's love story as they aged! so much queer stories and media are focused on under 30s aged people, and it was welcomed to see how queerness doesn't have an age limit. loved the graphics and bonus stories too! definitely recommending to all the Black queer women I know and love.

Wonderful book. All the feels.

Loved this book. Can't wait for the sequel.

Don't miss out on this delightful love story!

Romance comics used to be a big thing. I mean, they're still kind of a thing, but most of us don't think of "romance" first when we think of the medium. This book challenges that, proving that this is an amazing vehicle for telling love stories. I recently picked up Tee Franklin's Jook Joint #1, a hypnotic and unsettling opening to a series (Have you read it yet? You should read it!). As soon as I finished it, I knew I had to read more of her work and immediately found this. The story, "grandmothers in love," off the bat seemed really different than Jook Joint. But after finishing this book, I think I'm beginning to sense the throughline in her stories, the type of work she's doing. And it's great stuff. The base story here is good, but it doesn't end there. There is fan art and bonus stories from luminaries like Gail Simone and Cat Staggs, work from artists I've been eagerly watching like Beverly Johnson, as well as the comics writing debut of romance superstar Alyssa Cole. And it's all so enjoyable! Jenn St-Onge, one of my favorite artists from the recent "Jem and the Holograms" comics, provides most of the art here. It's just what I've come to expect from her, colorful and lush, drawing out the beauty in virtually everything. This book represents a true pairing between writer and artist, they're perfectly engaging with each other. The core story . . . well, it's romantic. Not just romantic, but truly beautiful and emotional. It's a second-chance romance with a rocket booster. The bonus content is thoughtful, drawing out threads of the original story or giving more details on key events in the lives of the characters. There's a nice variety of tone and styles. Tee Franklin is now an autobuy for me. There is so much in her stories. If you're looking for stories of love and the lives of women, as well as a bunch of want-to-jump-right-into-the-page art, I highly recommend this book.
